Aesthetics – Bits of Bavaria

Throughout the years, and because of one of my best friend’s origin, my many trips to Germany have mainly oriented around the northern parts of the country but I never set foot into Bavarian territory. We finally managed to do so this past autumn and I can quite confidently say this is my favourite parts of Germany. The Bayern visual is as per its culture – a little more flamboyant, ‘Catholic’, Baroque and Rococcan, charming in a bigger, louder way. Elaborate figurines adorned facades of different churches, fairytale rooftops beneath cotton clouds and true blue autumn skies, fern green parks pinched by a sturdy flow of the Danube river, circular windows large and small and grey pebbled streets of little towns. We may keep returning here to explore deeper and wider, and to understand and appreciate this ubiquitous face of Deutschland.
