Aesthetics – Gerbeaud Cafe, Budapest

We popped by this cafe on a warm November afternoon. It’s a milder version of the New York Cafe, more authentic, less terrorised by stampedes of tourism. We could actually have real conversations amongst locals here, and there wasn’t a need to book way in advance. It comprises of the usual Austro-Hungary dining room aesthetics – high ceilings, huge chandeliers, old school Renaissance. While we were there, it’s situated right in the midst of the famous Christmas market. Desert was deliciously sweet and there are little nooks and crannies that you can lodge yourself within discretely, and spend an afternoon catching up with friends. If you happen to be in town, this is highly recommended. Check in their website here https://gerbeaud.hu/.
