It’s almost impossible to find a French city that is not chic and charming and Strasbourg was not an exception. Days of walking around the old town led us through adorable patisseries, fromage houses, pastel bicycles over the River Rhone, colourful Colmar homes, vibrant florists, and the beautiful Notre Dame. A quick 500 metre distance could take ages to get through as I was busy photographing all the beautiful idiosyncrasies of this little corner on earth. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it could be over Christmas with all the decorations adorning every facade. Although I’ve long past moved on from seeking for these fairytale medieval beauties in Europe, it’s still a pleasure to the gaze and we can love it for all the aesthetic value it offers.

You captured its charm very well in these pictures. Maggie

Great selection of images to show the beauty of Strasbourg ~ I agree, there is something about the European fairytale medieval cities and villages. I could get lost in them forever and be quite happy.

Yess… it never fails to impress me how architects of the past have such an intricate sense of aesthetics… I’m not sure if tourists a few hundred years from now would marvel at our boxy, lean-lined skyscrapers the way we currently enjoy looking at medieval Europe…
