It’s not easy to enjoy beaches during the monsoon season but we stole whatever moment of sunshine we had with multiple beach outings. Koh Lanta had some rocky and unswimable beaches but it also had picturesque coves and bays speckled throughout the island. We were based off on Khlong Kong beach which was the rocky unswimmable variety during monsoon so we explored different parts of the island to either just sit by the sea or dive in for a swim. One afternoon we also drove two hours to Ao Nang in Krabi town to enjoy a bigger beach in a bigger town. Thai beaches can be lovely, though having now seen more of the world, it’s not the place for white sand and true blue waters. It’s a lovely retreat nevertheless for fresh coconut water, warmer temperature water, giant limestones and beautiful lush green foliage.
Whatever it may be teals, turqoise, blues, greens and everything in between cools the gaze, and washes the heart of many ailments.

Thank you so much and indeed walking down the shores is often times my anti-depressant! So true too about the rocky beaches- it is often said the rocky unswimmable remains pure and beautiful because it hasn’t been contaminated by the masses. Also often the case in the pebbly mediterranean beaches which I also love!
